The package creator (New Package) builds a one-off document send. It also opens when you continue editing an existing draft. The steps across the top are Details, Fields and Send.

1

Upload documents

In Documents (“Upload the file(s) that need to be signed.”), use Upload files to add files from your computer, or Choose from library to add documents from the Library.
2

Fill in Package details

Give the package a Package title (required), an optional Description (optional) and optional Tags.

3

Add recipients

In Recipients (“Add the people who need to sign or receive this package.”), choose how they sign:
  • Parallel signing: everyone signs at once, in any order.
  • Sequential signing: recipients sign one at a time, in order. Needs at least two recipients. Drag rows to reorder them, give recipients the same number to notify them together, and set a Delay before a recipient is notified.
  • Workflow: answers to questions decide the documents and who signs. This option appears once the package is saved as a draft. See Building a workflow.
For each recipient, enter a Name and Email, pick a Type (Signer, Viewer or CC) and a Delivery (Email or In person). Add recipient adds a row; its menu also offers Add from contacts, Add from company and Add me.

4

Set access (optional)

In Access, turn on Password protect signing to require a password before the documents load. Generate creates a random password and Copy copies it. Share the password with recipients separately, not in the invite email.
5

Customise the email and timing (optional)

In Email & reminders, set an Email subject (optional) and Message (optional) (blank sends the default invitation). Under Timing, choose how often Reminders go to anyone who hasn’t signed, and an Expiry that closes the package if it isn’t completed in time. A preview of the invite email updates as you type.
6

Continue, send or schedule

The top bar’s main button is Continue to fields (or Activate package when there are no signers). Its menu offers Activate package, Schedule send, Sign now (in-person signing on the spot, where the recipients allow it) and Save draft.
The number of recipients on a package depends on your plan. The recipient count shows beside Recipients, and Add recipient is disabled once you reach the limit. See pricing.
To send one package to a list of people from a CSV, use Bulk send from a template instead.
