# Bulk send from a template

> Send one package per row of a list, all from the same template, as the bulk mode of Send from template.

A bulk send sends the same template to a list of recipients, one package per row. It is the **Bulk send** mode of [Send from template](/guides/templates/send-from-template), so it only sends from a template, not from uploaded documents directly.

**Bulk send** requires the Business plan or higher (see [pricing](https://flowsign.app/pricing)), and your role needs the **Bulk send** permission. Without the permission, the option is disabled with "Your role can't bulk send. Ask an admin for access."

## Starting a bulk send

* From the create menu, choose **Send from Template**, then choose **Bulk send** on the **Send type** step.
* From a template's **Use** action, choose **Bulk send** on the **Send type** step.
* From [Contacts](/guides/contacts/contacts), select people and choose **Bulk send**. Send from template opens with **Bulk send** already chosen, and each person becomes a row. Only the contacts on the current page are carried across.

    Pick the template to send from. Only published templates can be sent. If the template's workflow has a problem, the flow shows **This template can't be sent yet** until someone who can edit the template fixes it.

  <Step title="Send type">
    Choose **Bulk send**. If the template asks sender questions, also choose how rows answer them:

    * **Same answers for every row**: a **Questions** step follows. Answer once, and every package uses those answers.
    * **Different answers per row**: there is no Questions step. Each workflow question and document question becomes a column in the recipients table, and a row must answer every question its own answers reach.

    Only with **Same answers for every row**. Answer the template's questions once for the whole batch.

  <Step title="Recipients">
    The roles section sets delivery for each role and, if the template supports in-person signing, one host for the whole batch. Below it, the rows table holds one row per package. Add rows by typing, with **Add from contacts** or **Add me**, or with **Upload CSV**. **Download template** gives you a CSV with the right columns (once you have rows, it becomes **Download CSV**). Merge fields and custom fields are columns too.

  <Step title="Preview and send">
    Name the batch in **Bulk send name**, check the summary, and preview a package with **Preview a package**. **Send `<n>` packages** sends every ready row. Rows with errors are skipped, and empty rows are ignored. Go back to Recipients to fix them first if you want them sent.

Bulk sends have no Details step and cannot be scheduled. Packages send straight away and appear under [Packages](/guides/packages/all-packages) as they go out, grouped into one row for the batch (see [Bulk sends](/guides/bulk-send/bulk-sends)).

A bulk send in progress is kept as a [launch draft](/guides/templates/launch-drafts) until you send it.
